About us

Welcome

The National Museum’s Ships – Centre for Seafaring and Maritime Crafts

The National Museum’s Ships are based at the harbour in Holbæk, where we sail, build and repair historic ships. Our shipwrights keep traditional craftsmanship alive, whilst the crews take guests out onto the water in ships with over a hundred years of history. We offer sailing trips, educational programmes for schools, talks and a working shipyard where you can watch the craftsmanship in action.

Rent a unique venue or book an expert

Our ships and shipyard have provided the setting for everything from DR documentaries to international productions. If you need an authentic maritime location for a film, photo shoot or event, please feel free to contact us. We also provide experts in shipping, ship carpentry and maritime crafts – for lectures, consultancy work or whatever you may require.
